العلامة الحبيب عمر بن حفيظ: أين الله ؟! وهذا السؤال مُركّب على إرادة تصور لمكان يحل فيه الجبار الأعلى الذي خلق الأماكن، وخلق الأزمنة، وعزته وجلاله لا يحتاج إلى عرش ولا إلى كرسي ولا إلى قلم، ولا إلى جنة ولا إلى نار، ولا إلى أرض ولا إلى سماء، والله إنها المحتاجة إليه، والله إنها المخلوقة له وفعله، وهو الأكبر الأعلى من أن يحل في شيء منها أو شيء منها يحل فيه جل جلاله وتعالى في علاه، ليس هذا وصف إله.. هذا وصف جسم، هذا وصف مخلوق، الحق أكبر من أن يحل في شيء من السماوات والأرض بذاته العليّة المقدسّة، أو يحلّ فيه شيء من السماوات والأرض وما بينها، هو الإله ! الألوهية تقتضي هذا وأما إذا بغينا مكان نسكنه فيه ومكان يقعد هذا مخلوق من المخلوقين! هذا جسم من الأجسام! لا إله إلا هو

Where is Allah? This is the question that’s based upon the wish to envisage a location in which The Almighty and The Most high resides, the one who created space and time. By his glory and his majesty, he is not in need of a throne، nor a chair, nor a pen. Neither a heaven nor hell. Neither the earth nor the heavens. Rather, by Allah, they are all in need of him. By Allah, they are all created for him and are from his actions. He is the greatest and the most high, too great for him to dwell in any of them or vice versa. For that couldn’t possibly be an attribute ascribed to a creator. They are attributes of a body. Allah, the Truth, is too great to dwell within anything in the heavens, the earth and what’s in between with his sacred and almighty essence. He is the Lord. This is by necessity for a creator. But if we want to ascribe a location of residence to him or place of seating for him then that too would be a creation amongst the creation. A body from amongst bodies. There is no God but him.
