العلامة الحبيب عمر بن حفيظ يروي مشاعر العارفين بالله نحو مكة المكرمة، مستشهداً بأبيات الإمام الحداد عند وصوله إلى المشاعر المقدسة..:
لما ذكر الإمام الحداد دخوله إلى مكة المكرمة قال :
وصلنا إلى الحيِّ الذي دونه المُنى ** فللَّه رب الحمد والشكر والثنا
يشير إلى الكعبة قال:
وزُرنا عروس الحي وسط خبائها ** مُسربلة بالحسن والنور والسنا
وطفنا بها مستأنسين بقربها ** وتقبيل خال الخد (الحجر الأسود) يا سعد من دنا
وشاهدت الأَرواح منا شعائراً ** مُعظّمة قد ضمها البيت والفِنا
مقام وحِجر والشراب وإنه ** لكوثر دار الخُلد في عالم الفَنا
وهكذا يصف المنطقة وما فيها وشعور العارفين وأرواحهم نحوها وماذا الذي يجريه لهم

When Imam Al-Haddad entered the Noble City of Mecca, he said,
“We have entered the precinct that contains our hopes,
To Allah belongs all praise, thanks, and glorification”
Then, speaking of the Kaʿba, he said,
“We visited the precinct’s bride, concealed within
Clothed in beauty, light, and splendor
We circumambulated it, feeling intimacy in proximity to it,
And kissed the Black Stone, how felicitous is he who is near!
Our souls witnessed the sacred sites
Contained within the House and precinct
The Maqam, the Hijr, and the drink which is
Eternity’s Kawthar in the abode of perishing”
This is how he described Mecca and what is contained within and what the Knowers of Allah’s souls experience in those places.
